RATES
All rates are published (both on our site and in any printed tariffs) in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without prior notice. They include all taxes and any obligatory service charges, except where otherwise stated.

The rates include (except where otherwise stated):

Accommodation in twin rooms with private bathroom and buffet breakfast.

Transfers (when mentioned) by private transportation (car, van or motorcoach) with baggage space for one large suitcase per person and english-speaking assistance.

Tours (when mentioned), either on “regular” basis (seat in van or bus) or “private” basis (in private transportation), with English-speaking guide.

Internal flights (only when mentioned).

The rates do not include:

Visa and passport costs, airport taxes, optional tours, tips to luggage porters, telephone charges, drinks and other expenses of a personal nature.


BOOKING PROCEDURES
Reservations
Services must be booked through our office in São Paulo, using E-mail or fax. Services will be confirmed in writing, stating the total price in local currency (brazilian reais) and the equivalent in U.S. dollars. A deadline will be set for payment of the deposit (or full payment if the services commence within 35 days). We reserve the right to cancel all services automatically if payment is not received by this deadline.   

For reservations at short notice, or for bookings during Carnaval, a credit card guarantee may be required before requesting the booking. Late bookings may incur a surcharge to cover any extra costs (such as air courier services).


GENERAL CONDITIONS
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing by E-mail or fax and, if you do not receive our immediate acknowledgment of receipt of your message, please resend your message or call us in order to be sure we have received it.   

For the cancellation of any confirmed services, a cancellation fee will be charged according to the nature of the services involved. We will naturally do our utmost to keep these to a minimum. In the case of groups, substantial penalties will apply for cancellation at less than 30 days notice. Refunds will be calculated in local currency and paid in dollars at the exchange rate on the date of   repayment.
Alterations
     a. by Agritours Brasil
         Agritous Brazil reserves the right to make any alterations to the services, either for operational reasons or for the security and comfort of the passengers.
     b. by the passenger
         Any alterations requested by the passenger, after full payment has been received, will  generally incur an amendment fee (5% of the value of the services affected), and may involve penalties and/or additional costs; amendments will only be effected once payment or a credit card guarantee has been received.

Check-in times

Check-in time is normally 14.00 hrs and, on the day of departure, the hotels will normally require the rooms to be vacated by 11.00 hrs or noon at the latest. (Clients arriving on flights which arrive very early in the morning as most do are recommended to request pre-registration, paying an additional night in order to guarantee that their room will be available on arrival.

Triple rooms and third beds


Bearing in mind that modern hotels rarely have triple rooms, a third person will normally be accommodated in an additional folding bed, which may often seriously limit the free space in the room. For this reason, we confirm such requests as “third bed”, not “triple”.

Travel Insurance

Passengers are strongly advised to take out travel insurance before leaving home.

Responsibility

Agritours Brasil is responsible for the planning, organization and operation of the services contracted and, acting only as intermediary between the passengers and the hotels, restaurants, transportation companies and other suppliers involved, is not responsible for personal injury or property damage or loss arising out of any act or negligence of any of these suppliers or other persons rendering any of the services contracted.


Agritours Brasil accepts no liability for losses or additional expenses due to delay or changes caused by the delay, cancellation or overbooking of flights, out-booking by hotels, sickness, climate, natural catastrophes, strikes, social unrest, terrorist activities, war, quarantine or any other causes, actions or omissions over which it has no control.

The passenger agrees to the foregoing, and also agrees that  Agritours Brasil will not be or become liable or responsible for any loss, default or injury of any person, company, or other legal entity engaged to supply the same.


WARNING

Validity of information : while we make every effort to maintain the information on our site up-to-date, it is essential that you check with us, or your travel agent, for any changes or variations to the information shown. This will allow us to advise you, or your agent, of any such changes that we are aware of either before you book your holiday, or prior to your departure.

Validity of Rates: similarly, we do our utmost to maintain our rates up-to-date but, bearing in mind that some hotels in Brazil set their rates in reais and others in dollars and also the fact that rates are often changed with little prior notice, this is a difficult task.

Accommodation Ratings: recognizing that each country sets its own procedures for the allocation of star ratings, the ratings shown are based on our own opinions and do not necessarily reflect official ratings. We use “5 stars” for hotels which would be deemed “deluxe” in Europe or North América, “4 star” for superior first class” and “3 star” for “first class”.

Payment
The deadline for final payment will be clearly stated on our confirmation; this will normally be 21 days prior to commencement of the services (or 35 days in the case of groups). Earlier deadlines will be set in the case of bookings over critical periods (e.g. Carnaval and New Year) and in other special circumstances.

Brazilian law requires us to debit you in our local currency (Brazilian Reais) and as a result, the amount actually debited in your currency will depend on the exchange rate applied by your bank. We suggest that you contact your bank for more details before making any decision on this matter because from recent experience, overseas banks tend to apply a wide spread in transactions with Brazil and you will probably be debited rather more than the dollar equivalent stated on our confirmation.
