Where can I change currency and at what times?
You may exchange currency at a variety of locations and times, however, it is always useful to travel with some local currency (please check with your local banks). Alternatively banks at your arrival airport will be open to exchange funds. We do recommend that you avoid exchanging funds at hotels as you will typically receive a less than favorable exchange rate.
Are ATM's generally available in Brazil ?
Absolutely there are lots of them throughout the country. At airports, major shopping centres and outside bank offices. Major ATM card companies include VISA, AMEX, and Mastercard.
Are travellers' checks accepted ? What about credit cards ?
Credit cards are accepted in hotels, restaurants, gas/petrol stations, etc. Cash and small change will be needed for bars and daily necessities. Traveller’s cheques must be exchanged at banks.
Do I need a trip insurance?
Most Regular Insurances can provide you with optional trip insurance for lost luggage, accident and or trip cancellation. We highly recommend it. There is a high incidence of lost baggage, but also emergencies or health problems pop up that may require a cancellation and lost deposits and balances.
What to take?
Tavelling documents (passport and tickets), clothing, hat, sun glasses, sun screen, rain gear, a simple wristwatch, insect repellents (if you leave the bigger cities), medicine and credit card.
Can I book my air tickets with Agritours Brasil?
We are happy to book flights within the country and from other countries to Brazil. Just ask your consultant when booking your flight. If flying internationally into Brazil, it is generally more economical to issue the Brazil Airpass in the country of origin.
Are transfers or breakfast included in the rates?
Unless otherwise in your quote or confirmation invoice our rates are usually on a room only basis.
